Frequently asked questions about the Google Analytics audit
What do you need from me for a Google Analytics audit?
We need access to Google Analytics itself, Google AdWords (if you have an account), the Search Console and, if possible, for the Google Tag Manager. This is the ideal setup to get the most out of the audit for you.
I don't have access to my Google Analytics account. What now?
No panic. We (unfortunately) experience this situation quite often. An old service provider set up Google Analytics for you and you never had access. First we try to contact your old service provider. If that doesn’t work, we’ll contact Google Support. As the owner of the domain, you should also have access to your own data within a few days. And the best part: we can do it all for you!
Am I obliged to implement the measures proposed after the audit?
No of course not. The audit ends with the proposal of measures that suit you and your requirements. If for any reason you do not want to implement the recommended measures or do not want to implement them yet, that is your decision. There is also no obligation to implement these measures with us. You alone decide which of our recommendations should be implemented, when and with whom.
I am not familiar with Google Analytics. What does this audit bring me?
Google Analytics is very complex – even for us who work with it every day. Our goal is for you to understand the basic functionality of analytics after the audit. Thanks to the automatic email notifications we have implemented, you no longer even have to regularly check your Analytics account. You will now receive important changes directly to your e-mail inbox. However, we still advise you to check your data regularly to get a feel for the success of your measures. If you don’t have time to look into Analytics yourself, we will of course be happy to evaluate the data for you.
I am not selling anything on my website. Does the audit make sense for my website at all?
At this point we will return the question to you: What is the goal of your website? It is very likely that this was not set up so that it was “just” hanging around the net. We lean out the window and claim: You might want to inform potential customers or even collect them. You may also offer information materials for download. All of this can be measured and should also be stored as a goal in Google Analytics. This is exactly what we will inquire about in our initial consultation with you and take it into account in our Google Analytics audit.
